Question

Painting of sheep
I inherited an oil painting of some sheep and was told by someone that it might be valuable. I would like to know who the artist was so that I can research it.  Perhaps you could identify it for me. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Mary,
it is difficult to tell who painted it from looking at the photo, is there a signature on the painting either on the front or on the back?

I do not know who painted that painting, your best choice would be to take it to a local appraiser.

If there is a signature on the painting and a date you can then look on the web on sites like: www.askart.com to possibly find out if the artist is listed .

Sorry I could not be of more help to you at this point.

Regards
