Question
QUESTION: Hi Josef=Peter,

We have paintings from China to be shipped to Germany.  We are having second thoughts about how the movers packed our paintings.  They started wrapping the painting with wax paper, then bubble wrap, then a corrugated cardboard for protection.  If the wax paper touches the oil painting over a certain period of time, will the painting be damaged?  Would you prefer an air shipment?

Thank you,
ABigail

ANSWER: Hi Abigail,
Air  with UPS or similar, would be the best way to go, but also expensive.

QUESTION: Hi again,

I have a follow up question: Is it safe as well if the oil painting is shipped through water?

Thanks,
ABigail

Answer
Hi,
I assume you meant shipping by ship instead of air, if that's the case then as long as it is packaged well, it should be OK. I would assume they are aware of the artwork and handle it accordingly.  I would make sure that the package is labeled ART WORK HANDLE WIT CARE in large letters on the package.

Regards

Josef-Peter
