Question have acquired the original, from the late 1800s, large charcoal drawings of grandparents. One isin perfect condition. Theother, when I receivd it, had not had the broken glass replaced and thus the background is full of spots where the charcoal has been displaced. How can this be repaired to its original state...which is a soft even "smooth" look so that it matches...or comes close to the other picture? Cannot send an image for the pcitures are very large...as was common in the 1800s
Answer Dear Robert,
I am not sure what you mean by "displaced?" Are you referring to the charcoal being smeared or did the broken glass puncture the charcoal paper? I understand that you cannot take a picture of the entire picture(s); however, if you can send me a picture where you say the picture has been "displaced," it would be extremely helpful in answering your question.
