Painting/Artists Valent Straka and Dave Harrison

Question
I have inherited two beautiful pieces of art.  An original oil signed Valent Straka, "Winter Splendor," who anecdotally is believed to have lived in NH when the painting was purchased, and an "artist proof" signed by Dave Harrison, "Into the Woods".  I can't find a single thing searching the web.  Are they just so obscure that I won't be able to find out any more information, or is there a source to find out more about these artworks?

Answer
Hi Karin,
These artists may not be recognized artists, but you can try these website: www.askart.com and www.artnet.com

Other then that if you cannot get any info from them with Google, they just may not be artists that have not been exhibiting.
