I have the attached painting that my wife purchased from an art collector. I've tried searching for the artist/painter that painted this picture but I cannot pin point him/her. I don't know if it's an original as all that it has is the signature in the front to the artwork and not other markings on the back. I understand you can't appraise the artwork but perhaps you could direct me to a site where it can be appraised and if you could please give me information on this painting? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thank you.

you should be able to tell if it is original or not, if it is painted with a medium it is most likely an original, or it is a print then it is not a original. The website that might help you are: www.artnet.com or www.askart.com
There may be others you can look up the artist on these sites but if you want pricing or any other information you will have to pay.
