Experience I began as a decorative painter/artist 15 years ago. My work has appeared in magazines from award winning designer show houses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and Architectural Digest. Most recently I have spent the last 3 years creating, developing and patenting a numerical color selection system that takes the subjective nature out of color. Since it is numerically based, color can be chosen quickly and accurately. For the past year, I have conducted training seminars for the "Color with No Regrets" System to decorating professionals around the United States. My background in decorative painting/art, has given me real life experience of how color works but more importantly why it works based on sound color principles. I am also an authorized Aqua Finishing Solutions Distributor and a certified training instructor for the Society of Decorating Professionals.

Question I want to decorate my home inside and out, in a Primitive style....I know colors may be more bland in that area but I am trying to find a pallet to plan from for Primitive Living....can you direct me to a resouce?
Answer Hi Melissa,
I would begin with a piece of primitive artwork to find a source of inspiration. There are so many versions of primitive art, that you need to find the ones that appeal to you most. You can google primitve art images for starters.
Or, you can visit your local library to find books on primitive art for inspiration. I know the internet is filled with info, but I like the idea of browsing the pages of a book for ideas and even a little history. It's a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.
Once you find the art, you can pull the colors from there. Even if you take a picture of your art and send it over, I can guide you in the right direction.
I hope this helps you.
