Question I am trying to pick a color for the main hallway in our house. The front door opens in the kitchen which is painted yellow. The hallway is at the back of the kitchen. From the hallway there is a bathroom, the stairs, the dining room (painted red), and the living room painted in a light green color. My only concern is that whatever the color may be it will have to run up the stairs and then in the main hallway of the upstairs since there is no break. I tried painting it a light tannish color and since the house is so old it actually looks like the walls were left white and they are just dirty. We like bold colors, kind of earthy though. The main hallway upstairs is where our bedroom is which is painted a dark brown, with a blue accent wall. And then the baby nursery which will be painted in neutral colors of tans and greens. I am looking for something to play on the fact that the house is old. It has old wood flooring that has the yellow color to it. And the hall does not have any windows in it so there is not much light in here at all. Thank you for your help
Answer Hi Laura
I have a few ideas but can you provide some more information? Otherwise I cannot be specific.
1. The color names, numbers and paint brands of ALL colors you have mentioned or tried out. (the tan that you do not like as well).
2. Age and architectural style of your house
3. Geographic location
4. Type of lighting in your hallway.
I will be glad to give your some color ideas after you are able to give me some details.
Thanks,
rebecca
