Question My master bedroom has a tray ceiling. Had wallcovering and a LOVELY (Yuck!)black border around the perimeter, not once, but twice, giving the impression of a matchbox race track... Having a paint contractor remove wallcovering, but don't trust their comment regarding what "most people" do as I find that most have no taste. I want a designer opinion as to whether to paint the first horizontal face the same color as my walls or to treat each of the horizontal faces (lower and uppermost ceiling) as ceilings? I selected Sherwin Williams Ancestral Gold in an eggshell finish. Why is plain old ceiling white bad? What would you recommend for the ceiling? I have heard comments and have seen postings here regarding going a couple of shades up... FYI: We have no crown molding at all. Thanks for the advice.
Answer Hi Keri
Before we go further, please explain "tray ceiling". Also: is the wallpaper border still part of the decor? I also need a ceiling height, room size and detailed info on your decor colors if you want even a general color suggestion.
thanks!
