Question We have dark brown paneling in alot of our house and they painted and it looks like put a clear coat over them. In the one bedroom that was paneling we had a friend to "mudd" the room and then my husband put a layer of kilz on it. I feel it needs another layer but my husband says that painting will be sufficient. What is your opinion. right now it looks like some areas are ok but other areas you can still see a darkness.
one more question. The trim and the doors were also dark as I said. the store told my husband to kilz them also. we did. but they are streaked bad. I feel we need to kilz again but again my husband says no. Well he painted over the one coat on the trim and true enough it shows through. Will painting over one more time help or is there something else we can do? HELP PLEASE>>>
Answer Brenda,
It sounds as though you will have to use a barrier coat prior to any further painting.
One of my favorite range of products are made by Insert and easily available on the Internet.
They act like a double sided tape adhering top the substrate and allowing any finish you require.
