Question My husband and I would like to paint our home. It has aluminum siding and we've never painted that before. Should we wash it before painting and with what? What is the recommended paint to use on this kind of siding? Would like any advice on how to prepare and paint this house.
Answer Theresa,
No problem but because Aluminium is a surface that isn't meant to be painted you will have to use a primer coat.
My favourite primers are made by Zinsser (easily available on the Internet) They have several primer sealers that act like double sided tape adhering to the substrate and making a sound base for your preferred finish.
