Question I want to pain our recessed eyeball light trim and the housing that fits inside the recessed can to match the ceiling paint. We have 9 eyeball lights to install and they are white....we don't want them to stand out but to blend into the ceiling color...so we want to match the color of the eyeball trims and the ceiling.
Question: What type of paint should be use? Would powder coating be ok or do we need to use paint that is heat resistant.

Well you can not powder coat in situ so as long as you use a primer to adhere to the substrate you can use any finish you like.
My favourite primers are made by Zinsser (easily available on the Internet) They have several primer sealers that act like double sided tape adhering to the substrate and making a sound base for your preferred finish
