Experience I began as a decorative painter/artist 15 years ago. My work has appeared in magazines from award winning designer show houses in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and Architectural Digest. Most recently I have spent the last 3 years creating, developing and patenting a numerical color selection system that takes the subjective nature out of color. Since it is numerically based, color can be chosen quickly and accurately. For the past year, I have conducted training seminars for the "Color with No Regrets" System to decorating professionals around the United States. My background in decorative painting/art, has given me real life experience of how color works but more importantly why it works based on sound color principles. I am also an authorized Aqua Finishing Solutions Distributor and a certified training instructor for the Society of Decorating Professionals.

Question have a wood outside shed. want to know how to prep it,etc. would like some ideas on what to paint on it.thank you/ nancy
Answer Hi Nancy,
Because of your climate you'll need a good primer and top coat for sure. One thing to keep in mind with oil based topcoats is they can yellow over time.
You can use any good quality product to paint your mural (I like the Faux Effects Line that's available on my website), just be sure they're good for outdoor use. Also, most metallics paints/glazes will fade and loose their metal effect because they are not approved for outdoor use.
There are so many options for outdoor painting. If you're not an experienced painter, I would keep it simple. Also I would use similar tones as your house so it blends well. The content can be something that has a similar look to your environment. Horses for a farm etc. Really the sky's the limit. There are mural books you can buy at your local book store for inspiration or even the internet.
I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am happy to help.
