Subject:  Problem wall
Question:  I'm renovating my kitchen. Took wall tiles off concrete wall and want to paint. Wall no has 3 different textures.  Top part is painted and neat. Bottom part has painted areas, with tile adhesive stuck to it and raw cement areas with tile adhesive stuck to it.  Do I skim wall to get the same finish before painting, or what?  Please help!

Answer:  Yes, the walls should be skimmed and primed.

If you want the same finish, then walls should be skim coated or textured the same so everything is uniform.
Then apply 1 coat of primer, and 2 top coats of paint...
