hi mr.ed..i have questions that i really need your help so please help me because you're the expert..i just started working in selling paints under the products or brand names are colorplace, kilz, and dutchboy..we have flats, satin and semi-gloss, with bases..my very big problem is i don't have knowledge in any of those paints..not any about paints..i really don't know how to use them for dealing with the customers..there are customers asking me about base, flat, satin, semi gloss and what base, etc..the thing is they grab or choose one colored card in which what color they want, there's formula at the back and they're still asking me questions that i don't know how to answer..i know how to mix and shake..but about dealing with the customers what kind of paints they need is really hard for me..many gets mad at me and they walk out..i feel really bad..i dnt know what to do..i don't wanna get fired..i like my job and i really love to learn about paints..please spend time to help me..thank you very much sir.

I'd suggest doing a "google" search on paints.
Type in the google toolbar your question. It will lead you to some great web sites!

Generally speaking, here are the differences on the paint bases.
FLAT......used for ceilings
EGGSHELL...........used for walls in bedrooms, living rooms, etc
SATIN...............same as eggshell only has a little more sheen.
Semi Gloss...........Used for kitchens & baths & doors & windows.
