Painting & Wallpapering/Kitchen

Hi. We have recently moved and downsized  i now have a much smaller kitchen with white cabinets and white ceramic tile. The counters were also light but just had a black granite counter installed. Walls are also white. We have just one window so not alot of natural light. I want to paint the walls but  at a loss since there are so many choices. The adjoining rooms are also neutral. Would love your advice. Thanks

HI Joann,
Hard to tell from photos about the overall spaces so I am not really comfortable recommending a specific color. However, a couple ways you could go are:
1. keep it light but neutral, and/or
2. Use a deeper color under the cabinets to tie them more to the black color. Not painting 'black' but maybe an interesting very deep blue-green/grayed something like that.
3. not something like a bright yellow, for example!
4. keep it soft and medium-value. Mid-range color on teh cool/grayed side even if it's a blue green.

Hope that helps.

I am able to answer questions about paint color and wall covering selection (interior and exterior, but in this category it's interior)and, in many cases, decorative ("faux") finishing for many types of surfaces. I can also answer some paint product and application questions but am primarily consulting about paint colors.I can also answer questions about Full Spectrum paints.
