hi - i was interested to read this as i am trying to paint fine picture frames and i don't want to see the wood grain, but i also want to use water based paint. Can i use water based paint over the oil primer or latex layer? Also how long does latex last? I just ask as paintings in frames can be around for hundreds of years and i need something that will last at least 50.

One last thing - i also need to make sure it does not fill in the groves on the frame, so it needs to be thin too.

Thank you for your help.
