Subject: Old Visor software>new Palm

Question
I wanted to transfer data (calender, contacts) from my ancient Visor Prism to a new Palm TX.   However, I recently suffered a computing catastrophe in which I lost all my laptop data as well as all external HDD backup files.  Long story short, I had gotten info on how to transfer old Visor files to a new Palm, but I now need to find the old Visor software before doing anything else (original CD is MIA - it was 8 years ago, after all).  Any ideas on where I could download it?

Answer
Unless I'm very much mistaken, all Palm OS devices use Palm Desktop to connect and synchronize.

What I think you would need to transfer your old Visor files to the Palm TX would be only the Palm Desktop software.  Palm Desktop is backwards compatible with all versions of Palm OS.

If there was Visor-specific software and not Palm Desktop (you'll eventually need Palm Desktop anyway, so it's always good to have it), if you remember the name of the software, I recommend Googling the name of the software, followed by "download."  That will more often than not bring you to a software downloading site like CNET's download.com, the Palm website, or palmgear.com.  Look for Palm OS specific sites, as they will most likely have what you need.

Good luck--please ask followups!

Cheers,
Tyler
