Question
Hello!
I am planning to buy a PALM. Either Treo 500 or PALM TX. I am worried though whether the  Palm will be able to configured on the wireless connection of my institution. I emailed them, they said that the any device that supports the following standards and protocols will work:
> IEEE802.11b or IEEE802.11g
> IEEE802.1X, PEAP
> WPAv1, TKIP
I do not understand these and I could not find them on the internet. I would appreciate if you can know whether PALM TX and TREO 500 have these!??

Another question, is it true that a device that has IEEE802.11b will work slower than one that has IEEE802.11g reciever?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Brainy

Answer
Hi Brainy,

The standards provided are standards for a device to receive a WiFi wireless connection (in short the internet connection is broadcast and the device needs to be equipped to receive that broadcast )

Of the two devices the Palm T/X is the only one of the two that is equipped for WiFi. The Treo is not.
