Subject: Data transfer Clie to TX

Question
Hi

I have my Sony Clie PEG T675 data entries all backed up on my PC via the supplied "desktop" software(Handbase 3, word to go, calendar, avant go, address book etc).

I have bought a Palm TX. I wish to seamlessly transfer this data from my Clie to my TX. I have not yet installed the TX software.

How do I go about doing this?

Many thanks in anticipation

Dr Nigel Huggins

Answer
Hi

If you got the default settings when you installed the sony clie software. the backup of your data should be here:

C:\Program Files\Sony Handheld\<HOTSYNC_NAME>

and so just grab that folder and make a backup of it somewhere, then you can install the palm tx desktop software, check where the the tx desktop software is installed, if it is in a different location like:

C:\Program Files\Palm\

then just copy the folder you backuped earlier to that location, and then sync your TX, when your pc asks for your hotsync name use the same name you used for your clie,

i hope this helps

good luck
