About Lorena Milanes
Expertise
I can answer questions regarding Panama, its people, culture, places to visit, places to watch out for, hotels to stay, how much your taxi fare should be... specific information on getting around on a safe manner.

Experience
I was born and raised in Panama, educated in American schools. Since I enjoy all related to Panama history, I try to keep myself updated on local happenings in the subject. I also enjoy traveling and the internet seems a wonderful tool to use, specially when you are your own guide (which I usually am)- so I am just willing to give some of the help I have received back.

Question
Hi Lorena,
I am also from Panama and graduated from Balboa High School in FY 1976. I would like to know where I can buy furniture actually made in Panama.  Eventually I'll retire back in Cerro Azul and all my interior decorating will be native to Panama.  My family was telling me about Guarare but there isn't any website I can check.  I currently live in the Maryland/Washington metropolitan area.  Saludos, Olga

Answer
Hola Olga,
There are a couple of places that sell furniture made in Panama.
Most of these stores are in the Avenida Central and also places like Casa Comfort and Casa Gala carry them.
Another good option is going to Chitre where they have the actual woodworks... which should give you better price options and if you want anything custom made it should be easier to obtain.
When you are in Panama donīt forget to go by BHS... itīs changed a little but not that much :)
Please let me know if you need anything else, I apologize for my delay in reply.
All the best.
Lorena
