About Lorena Milanes
Expertise
I can answer questions regarding Panama, its people, culture, places to visit, places to watch out for, hotels to stay, how much your taxi fare should be... specific information on getting around on a safe manner.

Experience
I was born and raised in Panama, educated in American schools. Since I enjoy all related to Panama history, I try to keep myself updated on local happenings in the subject. I also enjoy traveling and the internet seems a wonderful tool to use, specially when you are your own guide (which I usually am)- so I am just willing to give some of the help I have received back.

Question
We will be visiting Panama on 9/20 and are thinking about taking a planr from Allbrook to David and renting a car to drive to Boquette and want to know if it is possible to drive from Boquette to Bocas de Toro and do you have any idea what the conditions of the road or distance would be. Because of the #300 drop off fee with a rental we will have to drive back to David. Any suggestions on hotels to stay at in Boquette and david?

Answer
Hi Bonnie,
I think I am late with the answer, but, here it goes anyway ...
Yes, you can drive from Boquete to Bocas del Toro, but, then again you can also take a short flight from the David airport-which is what I would do as itīs less time consuming plus the roads are not that great...
In Boquete I would recommend the following (one per price range, so you have options):
$$$ Hotel Panamonte - nice, calm, food is great and Lindbergh stayed here when he came to Panama.
$$ Hotel Fundadores - family run, has small cottages, calm,j clean and simple. They have closed parking and its located in the middle of the town.
$Pension Marlos or Topas
Good luck and have a safe trip.
Lorena
