AboutLorena Milanes Expertise I can answer questions regarding Panama, its people, culture, places to visit, places to watch out for, hotels to stay, how much your taxi fare should be... specific information on getting around on a safe manner.
Experience I was born and raised in Panama, educated in American schools. Since I enjoy all related to Panama history, I try to keep myself updated on local happenings in the subject. I also enjoy traveling and the internet seems a wonderful tool to use, specially when you are your own guide (which I usually am)- so I am just willing to give some of the help I have received back.

Question Hi: we are coming to Panama this coming June 2008 and we are wondering if it is save to drive from panama city to chiriqui.. how are the roads? and do you get to see nice places on the way (provincias)also if we can rent a car in panama and drop in David and flight back from there.. hope you can help..thanks, karin
Answer HI Karin,
Driving to David from Panama City should be safe taking the precautions you would take driving anywhere in the world.
The road is good in some parts and awful in others... you will also encounter a lot of roads being worked on.
You will be able to make a few stops which should be interesting, depending on what you like.
There are colonial churches, rivers, beaches, a zoo, cattle, deser, you just have to chose where to make your stops.
In regards to the renting you just have to look for a company that will allow drop off at David.
Now if you want to fly back from David, you can - directly to Panama City there are about 3 airlines that offer the service.
For rates you can check one of them www.aeroperlas.com

Lorena
