Question
Hi Lorena, I am visiting Panama this summer and I would like to know if it's best to rent a car and drive to certain cities or travel by bus?  The plan is to travel from Panama City to Agua Dulce and on to David.

Answer
HI Michael,
It all depends on what you wish to do, once you arrive there.
For example if you drive from Panama to David, the roads are ok and I can almost say pretty safe.
Also if you drive you get a chance to see a lot more, for example on the way there is one of the oldest churches on the continent Nata de los Caballeros, also plenty of beaches, a tiny zoo, nice restaurants and even a desert.
So, to wrap it up for you, YES I would drive- since itīs not in the city itīs not hectic.
The only thing is take a dictionary with you, there are not many fluent English speakers on the road.
Safe trip!
Lorena

Expertise

I can answer questions regarding Panama, its people, culture, places to visit, places to watch out for, hotels to stay, how much your taxi fare should be... specific information on getting around on a safe manner.

Experience

I was born and raised in Panama, educated in American schools. Since I enjoy all related to Panama history, I try to keep myself updated on local happenings in the subject. I also enjoy traveling and the internet seems a wonderful tool to use, specially when you are your own guide (which I usually am)- so I am just willing to give some of the help I have received back.
