We travel for several months of the year so will not be fast to respond between mid August and December. From Dec to Aug we will generally respond the same day.

Panama - getting around Columbia

Expert: Angel Rodriguez & Carla Black - 5/26/2005

Question
I am in the works of planning a roadtrip from boston to
tierra del fuego and then up to buenos aires. two
questions: how long does it take? and how can i get around
columbia affordably in a car? do you have any specific
contacts/companies regarding the latter?

Answer
Hi Dylan,

It would take me months the way I like to travel but I am sure you could do it much mor quickly if quickly is one of the objectives.  A person could make it from Texas to Panama in 10 days if they had to.

There is no easy way to get a car to South America and if you are headed south I assume you would want to get the car to Ecuador or Peru.  There are manycar shipping specialist on the web for instance http://www.shipmyvehicle.com

While I have driven from the US to Panama several times I have never driven in South American.  And you should skip Colombia.

I hope this helps.

Angel
