About Annalise
Expertise
I can answer questions about any kind of paranormal or unexplained phenomenon, though crypotzoology, psychic abilities, and ghosts/hauntings are my strength. I also delve into UFOs, synchronicities, and the general "weirdness" of the world we live in. I am not an expert on religious matters like angels, Mary sighting, miracles or things of that nature so please find someone better qualified to help you with those subjects.

Experience
I have had personal experiences with strange and paranormal phenomenon since I was a child, which has lead me to a lifelong quest for explanations. I have read countless books on the subject and spoken to many other people who have had unexplained experiences. However, I am a skeptic, but not a debunker. This means that I believe 99 percent of paranormal phenomena are not paranormal and can be explained by normal physical laws. I have helped many scared or confused people figure out that what they experienced was not unusual at all. But, there is a small percentage that is truly inexplicable. I would be happy to answer any general questions you have, or help you figure out exactly what the heck that was that you saw!

Subject: missing young men

Question
Hi Annalise
I was intrigued by a recent news item.
Where I live in western Canada quite a few young men have gone missing over the past few years.
Theye were all caucasion,in good health,in their twenties.
No foul play was suspected, they were all well adjusted with no issues.
One kissed his pregnant girlfriend good bye and walked to catch the bus to work and was never seen again.
One was camping in a park with several friends.
One simply walked to the store to buy cigarettes.
One theory is that they were 'picked up' possibly by aliens.
Have you ever heard of this?
I have two sons the same age so I am a bit concerned.

Answer
Hello Bud,
Missing persons are always chilling, especially when they all fit a certain profile.
I have never heard of aliens keeping their abductees, they seem to return them. But then again, if they kept them, how would we know they were being abducted?
Also, aliens abduct all types of people, there is no pattern so I doubt there are abductions going on here. Serial killers come to mind since there seems to be a "profile" here, but there have been no bodies found plus the fact that almost all serial killers are in America (yet another reason to be proud).
My guess would be normal things. Walking out on a pregnant girlfriend when you are in your 20's is despicable but certainly not unheard of. Going to the store to buy cigarettes is really THE cliche for walking out on a family or a whole life. And camping, well, unfortunately people go missing when camping a lot.
Also, was this only one article you read this in? Had you heard of these incidents prior to this article? If not, you may want to check the reputation of the periodical it came from and also the sources of the reporter.
All in all, I would just tell your sons to be watchful but not paranoid.
