Question MY MOTHER IN LAW PASSED AWAY 2 YEARS AGO FROM A SUDDEN BRAIN TUMOR AND LEFT MY FATHER IN LAW WHICH HE IS 85 YRS. OLD IN THE FAMILY HOME OF MANY YEARS. MY FATHER IN LAW HAS PARKINSONS DISEASE AND I TOOK CARE OF HIM FOR OVER TWO YEARS SINCE HER DEATH. MY FATHER IN LAW HAD TO BE PLACED IN A NURSING HOME RECENTLY DUE TO HIS AILING HEALTH. HE TURNED THE HOUSE OVER TO MY HUSBAND AND ME. BEFORE ENTERING THE NURSING HOME MY FATHER IN LAW AND I WAS SITTING AT THE KITCHEN TABLE ONE DAY AND HE WAS EXPLAINING THAT HE HAD SEEN HIS WIFE COMING DOWN THE LONG ROAD WITH ANOTHER MAN. THESE HALLUCINATIONS COME WITH THE DISEASE OF PARKINSONS AND WE WERE TOLD BY HIS DR. THAT IN LATTER STAGES THEY WOULD. WHEN HE SAID THOSE WORDS THAT SHE HAD CAME DOWN THE ROAD WITH ANOTHER MAN AND WAS CUSSING( WHICH SHE WAS A VERY RELIGIOUS LADY) SUDDENLY THE KITCHEN WOODEN CHAIR FOR NO REASON SLAMMED BACKWARD INTO THE FLOOR. NO ONE WAS ANY WHERE NEAR THIS CHAIR AND NO REASON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. EXAMPLE #2-MY HUSBAND WAS DOWN THERE AFTER HIS FATHER WAS PLACED IN A NURSING HOME AND NO ONE ABSOLUTELY WAS THERE BUT HIM SELF. SUDDENLY HE HEARD THE Back STORM DOOR OPEN AND CLOSE 3 DIFFERENT TIMES AND HE THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEONE WAS THERE OR COULD HAVE SEEN HIS VEHICLE THERE AND STOPPED BY. HE WENT TO THIS BACK DOOR AND NO ONE WAS THERE OR HAD BEEN THERE. EXAMPLE #3-ON JUNE 29,2009 WE EMPLOYED A CONTRACTOR TO COME AND GIVE US AN ESTIMATION OF UPDATING THE HOUSE SO WE MAY BE ABLE TO MOVE INTO IT. HE ARRIVED WELL BEFORE US AND WHEN WE DROVE UP HE EXPLAINED THAT HE THOUGHT WE WERE ALREADY IN THE HOUSE. HE HEARD LOUD NOISES LIKE SOMEONE DROPPING A LARGE OBJECT OR JUMPING OFF OF THE BED. HE AND HIS ASSOCIATE SAW THE BLIND ON THE WINDOW INSIDE MOVE AS THOUGH SOMEONE WAS CHECKING TO SEE WHO WAS OUT THERE. THEREFORE HE SAID THAT IS WHY HE THOUGHT WE WERE ALREADY IN THE HOUSE. WHEN WE PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY THIS CONTRACTOR WAS VERY CONFUSED AND TOLD US THE STORY. WHAT POSSIBLY COULD BE THE REASON FOR THESE HAPPENINGS? NONE OF THE 3 INCIDENTS HAVE WE EVER SEEN ANYONE JUST THE SOUNDS..... PLEASE HELP ME BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS TO HAPPEN TO ME BEFORE AND MY HUSBAND IS VERY CONFUSED AND WONDERING WHAT IT IS ALSO. It sounds very much like your mother-in-law has not passed over as she should and is still in the house. The chair slamming to the ground sounds like she was angry, sensing you did not believe her husband. The door slamming sounds like she was trying to get your husband's attention to ay "hello! I am here, acknowledge me" and the one with the contractor sounds just like a little old lady being curious and maybe a bit angry that there was someone unknown parked in her driveway.
First, please do not be scared. If she was a sweet person in life then there is no reason to believe she would not be sweet in death. She is just not ready, for some reason, to go yet. Perhaps she is worried for her husband and his care. Maybe she is waiting for him so they cam cross together. Who knows? But I can tell you that, if you start remodeling that house, things will get worse. The surest way to stir up ghostly activity is to remodel or redecorate, so I would get her to move on before you start your project.
First, your husband and you need to go into the house and talk to her, just like she were alive. Tell her you know she is there. Tell her you are making sure her husband is getting good care and she does not have to worry about him. Tell her not to wait for him, that God will take him when it is his time, and tell her that God has taken her and she need to go to the light, she does not belong here anymore. Tell her you love her but she needs to go to the light to meet Jesus and her loved ones that have already passed over. Give her a sense of closure, give her the assurance she needs to feel safe to go, and that you will handle things when she is gone. Also, let her know she IS gone, since sometimes they don't.
I would then say my good-byes to her, and say some prayers for the dead, she will like that. After that, if you can, get her minister/priest to come bless the house. He doesn't need to know why, just ask him to do it.
After that, if anything else happens, IGNORE IT. At that point, if she is not gone yet, she is being stubborn and the best thing to do is ignore the happenings. Do not be afraid or angry, have no emotion. I would bet she will be gone within a couple of weeks. If not, try talking to her again and if that still does not work, call your local paranormal investigators and ask them for the name of a medium who can come take to her. The good ones do not charge anything.
The main thing is to not be scared. I really do feel that she will be gone when you talk to her. Oh, and light some candles, maybe get a cross or religious items out, anything she can relate to that will show her she is dead, since you said she was very religious.
