Question My 6 year old girl is very disrespectful to her grandparents and to other adults at times. Sometimes she is sweet, but others she is rude and snippy. For example, her grandmother took her to a tennis lesson and then swimming, and afterward she was nasty when women in the changing room asked her how the swimming was, and threw her coat at her grandfather. Then demanded to eat at the restaurant. They refused but got her something to eat at a store and then she had to be prompted to say thanks. When she got home she was really happy and said that they had had no problems. Of course I had told her to be good or she would lose privileges; she claimed there were no issues but her grandmother told me what happened. The child gets angry when people ask her questions about herself. She's always been a handful; we are all worried about her rude behavior. She turned 6 two months ago. She is doing OK in school but did have one incident where she was disrespectful to the teacher. We talk to her and restrict her privileges (TV, computer, bedtime, etc.), and it works for a while but then she'll revert to the behavior again. When she's in the bad phase she will make everything a huge debate/argument. We just don't know what to do to make her behavior more positive. She also worries about everything and whines and complains all the time that things aren't as she would like them to be. Just a few days ago I was happy that she was improving her behavior and now it's back to the same old thing again.

I'm sorry you are having issues with your daughter. I have a daughter, now married, that I would describe as "high maintenance" in the same areas you describe. It is very trying and stressful at times. In fact, she is the one who lead me to discovering the most remarkable parenting tool I've ever used before or since.
