I'm an advocate for children with special needs and have worked in the legal area of Family Law and Civil Law for 7 years. I'm a published writer of this subject. I have dealt with many issues including: dealing with the biological parent, eating disorders, relationships between siblings, education, access, etc. I can offer support, personal opinions and resources based on research I've used while writing about these subjects. Education/Credentials BFA, working towards my Masters. Stepparent of 4 stepchildren.Bioparent of two, all inclusive of two special needs children: one down syndrome; the other ODD/ADD.
Question I am step mother who has been married for 7 years .I have a great husband but he has 5 other kids I have 3 two who are by him a one when we go married.the problem with his kids and their mother is that she does nothing and I mean nothing she don't take him to the dentist don't care about their school work I mean she cares about nothing but her self and the chidsupport.So that leaves good old step mom to do it all and every time I don't want to do her job I have to here how bad they have it for my husband. His goal is to get cusdoty of his kids but that woould mean that I would have to take care of my 3 plus this five while he works like a dog ,but I'm a mean for not wanting to raise them.What should I do.

Your three and his five? Are you insane? Tell him when you hit the lottery, you will be happy to hire a nanny, maid and housekeeper to help him with his unrealistic dream. Otherwise, I'd make sure before this happens, that this is EXACTLY what you want out of life, otherwise you are in for a world of hurt if not.
