Parenting--Toddlers/Infants/Pre-Schoolers - baby wont sleep

Expert: Paula Hahn - 1/31/2005

Question
Hi Paula

I have a 10 month old baby that is driving me crazy at night. During the day if someone sleeps next to him he can sleep for 1hour, if not he will sleep for 15min to half hour..

he goes to bed at 7 in the night and wakes up at least 3 times for a full bottle of milk or his dummy. He does not sleep well and it is bad for me because his dad works night shift and I am alone with baby and I have to be at work the next day. I make sure that he is dry and he has a good meal, I have tried bathing him late and also tried giving him just plain water but he just wants the milk. Is it okay for him to be like this?

Please give me your advise...

Answer
Dear Marcia:

I am currently recovering from a serious illness, and I am unable to devote the time and effort to answering your question that you deserve.  I apologize for my limitations, and any hardship that they may cause you.

Your concerns are very valid and there are strategies that you can use to help your baby learn to sleep through the night.  I encourage you to seek some advice from one of the other qualified volunteers available at AllExperts.

Good luck and may Gad bless you!

Sincerely,

Paula Hahn
