My father is there now; was on pureed along with feeding tube.  We've disconnected tube and have decided to late nature take over.  It's not easy, you do feel guilty.  But Quality of Life has to take over sometime.  He cannot ingest anything without aspirating, he is now in the hands of hospice and just comfort care till the end.  Talk with your father if you can to see what he would want.

My family is in the same shoes as Mary's. I desperately want to fight for my mom's life but my sisters feels I am prolonging her suffering. Part of me agrees with them but I just can NOT let go of my mom and starvation to me is also suffering too.  I cry when i see her and i cry when i think about loosing her.

My dad is 6'1" and weighs 110 pounds.  I'm torn by watching him starve and losing all abilities like speech.  This disease is horrible and I can only imagine my fathers frustration in not being able to speak.  It has been a rollercoaster ride.  I just don't want him to suffer anymore!!
