Question Our African Grey is 10 weeks old. We are feeding him Handrear Gold stage 2 with great success. We have slowly introduced apples and bananas into his diet which it loves. When can we introduce him to the solid food stage meaning seeds, nuts ect.
Answer I wouldn't introduce seeds until he's weaned onto pellets. As for nuts, go ahead and enjoy! Start with something soft like an almond and give it a crack first though so it's easier for him and have fun watching him discover the joys of big bird food.
There is nothing so fun and enjoyable as watching our babies grow up and learn about new foods. A messy beak and wide eyed bird is unforgettable!
Take a look here to find out more details about feeding and some good food options to try. Take a look at the girls too!
