Parrots - Diet

Expert: Rev. Dr. S.August Abbott - 6/18/2009

Question
I have a pacific parrotlet that only eats (maintenance Roudybush)so, the avian told me give her this vitamin (nekton-s) Can I give her both things at the same time?, because I've read some articles saying that it's no neccesary to give her vitamins if she is eating the pellets, it may cause damage in her kidneys. Is that true?

Answer
Roudybush is an excellent, complete pelleted diet - you are right, no further vitamins should be necessary.

If, however, your vet has done blood tests and found a deficiency, you should certainly follow their instructions.
