About Carol
Expertise
I can answer questions about most parrots, especially the medium (conure) to large (macaw) sized birds. I try my best to keep up-to-date on the latest information available on birds, and know the behavior, nutrition, etc. for most individual species and will point you towards a different expert if I'm not familiar with the species. I know the basic care of birds, husbandry, health care, quarrantine, housing, and nutrition of birds. I am a Certified Avian Specialist and have worked with birds for many years. I can answer almost any question you have about your parrot, though I am better with the medium to large parrots (conure-sized on up) and lovebirds. I accept breeding questions, but I do have requirements (Ask your question, I will give you the requirements). Health concern questions are accepted, but you must be willing to go to an avian vet if the need arises. I also am very great at training birds-especially the larger parrots. I don't know everything (nobody does), but since I've worked with them for so long, I know which methods work and which do not.

Experience
I'm PIJAC Avian Certified, an Avian Behavioral Specialist, spent the last 8 years training birds (sometimes even for commercials) and do lots of rescue work. I also worked in a vet office for a few years and picked up on a lot. I've done breeding and hand-feeding, but no formal training.

Education/Credentials
PIJAC Avian Certified

Some parrots will bathe themselves at the sound of a vacuum cleaner. Something about the sound that stimulates them to want to bathe, so you might try vacuuming your carpet when you want your bird to take a bath on its own!
