About Mary Lee Ferrin
Expertise
I can answer any questions about hosting or participating in a murder mystery party.

Experience
I have been hosting murder mystery parties for 9 years. I owned a murder mystery dinner theater for a year. 4 years ago I started writing my own murder mystery parties and began selling them on the web. Within weeks I had to choose between my dinner theater and my party kit site. I just could not do both. I love writing so I choose to continue this and I have never looked back. My site Dinner and a Murder Mystery Games is one of the largest most authorative web sites on the web relating to murder mystery parties. I have an extensive forum in which I answer murder mystery questions. I also write articles. http://www.dinnerandamurder.co

Question
About how much wine and hard liquor would I need for about 100 guests?  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Betty,

This really depends on your guests. If most of them are conservative, who will not drink, this would really come into play in this figure. Are they love to party and hang out in bars types who would drink a lot more and prefer beer? Or are they upper class who would most likely prefer wine and liquor to beer? Every party guest list will have very different preferences and these should be taken into consideration when coming to your final figures.

That being said, here are some basic guidelines:

Plan on two drinks per person for the first two hours and one drink per person for each extra hour. Assume that 40% drink beer, 30% use hard liquor, and 30% sip wine.

So for 100 People:
Beer: 240 bottles
Wine and champagne: 36 bottles
Hard liquor: 11 bottles
Mixers: 48 liters

I hope this helps you plan your party successfully!
