Subject: centerpieces for 30th surprise party

Question
Any ideas for centerpieces for 30th suprise party...no real theme, so stuck for good idea.

Answer
I would always suggest finding a theme and then having touches of that theme featured in the centerpeices. Some thoughts:

1) Don't make them too large as they can inhibit conversation across tables
2) Fresh flowers are always a good starting point and just two main related colors with a third as an added accent is good
3) Without knowing anything about number of tables, budget, whether rounds or sprigs, age group and demographics of guests it's impossible to suggest suitable ideas
4) Search via Yahoo! and Google for Party Planners and Table Decorators, Florists etc and their websites will have some work examples which may inspire. Also do an Image search for centerpieces .....
5) The birthday person's likes or hobbies can work very well (especially for a surprise party) as it makes it a personal touch ... showing love and care and not just done by numbers. The hobby or interest may just be reflected in the color choice (if a sports theme) or could involve objects or images or table names (and a seating plan).
6) Use what you have as a spring board to brainstorm .... I can't help more as I have no info.

Hope this helps youi get started...
