Question On February 17th I'll be turning seventeen and I wanted to do something
special for it. For my sixteenth I had a small gathering of friends but this year
I was hoping for something a little more pary-ish. I was thinking of possibly
renting out a room at a restaurant and having all of my girlfriends come
dressed up. I was also considering having karaoke.
But I'm kind of at a loss for other activities to do other than the meal, cake,
presents, and all of the other traditional birthday things. I'm also on a limited
budget. Decoration ideas would be a big help too.
So in summation, I need help with cheap decoration ideas and fun activities
for my friends. Thanks!
Answer Hi Haley!
Since your birthday is close, my first sugeestion would be a murder mystery party. I did one for my niece last year and it was a huge hit with the girls. The style of it was sophisticated and the cost was really reasonable. The game itself is only about $40 and everything is printable. There are ven ideas for food and activities.
Since the mystery theme I used for my niece involved a bridal shower, chocolate and a spa, I actually started the party off with a fake bridal shower for the birthday girl. That was fun in itself. We even played bridal shower games. I purchased a couple gifts for her to make it more authentic (personal type gifts) that she could either throw in her hope chess or use now. On hindsight I could have asked the guests to package their birthday presents as bridal shower gifts too, but as it was she opened those later in the evening.
I had a friend of mine come in and do manicures and we had stations set up for making and using spa treatments. We also had lots of chocolate treats throughout the night. It was a classy, fun party.
It doesn't take long to set up the party. Invitations can be sent online and their is even a sort of forum provided where your guests can respond, RSVP, etc.
