Question
We are a small Catholic School hosting a Silent Auction on Feb. 21st.  Cost is of major concern, so this year we will be hosting our event in the school's gymnasium. I'm looking for a unique theme for our event incl. low cost decorating ideas.  Mardi Gras has been overused for us.  I was thinking Oscar's or A Knight for our Kids.  Any thoughts?

Answer
Dianne:

Sounds like fun.  Is this event for adults or families?

Either way, themes like Toyland or Candyland would be clever and easily decorated.  Both would be good themes for auction items, as well.  You know that adults will spend more money for items for their children or grandchildren than they will for themselves.

Or Everyday is a Holiday...featuring all the holidays with decor and music, activities.

Make Magic for Kids is a theme that can be beautiful and the decor is fairly easy to complete.

Let's Make Music, is another easy theme...

Is there anything in there to inspire you?

When you decide upon a theme, write again and I will add some detail ideas for you.

Best to you for a wonderful, successful event.
