About Patty Sachs
Expertise
Anything about planning parties for weddings, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, retirements, bar/bat mitzvahs, business promotions, fund raisers, and civic events. If I cannot answer I will direct you to the answer. I am not an expert in children or teen parties. There are hundreds of sites that specialize in that information if you google "kids parties" you will find an amazing amount of bright ideas. We do have a page on our site that leads to al the different kid's party themes, however. http://www.partyplansplus.com/themes.htm Not for those seeking information about party/event planning as a career. That information is found on the internet under "event planning careers" or at our site www.partyplansplus.com/started.htm

Party Planning - Parents' 30th Anniversary

Expert: Patty Sachs - 7/27/2008

Question
I am planning my parents' 30th wedding anniversary, and we are going to have a wine, cheese, and desert party from 7-10 PM.  I would like the guys to wear shirt and tie, and the women to wear dress pants/dress, etc.  I don't want it to be a black tie affair or anything, but I would like people to wear nice 'church clothes.'  I am going to send my invitations via evite, so how do I word this?

Answer
Evite should have a long list of these terms, since it is such a commonly asked question.  Here are a few of my suggestions:

Dress-up Casual
Sunday Best
Reception 2008

The guests should get the gist of any of those terms.

Best of luck to you with your party plans.  It sounds very nice to me.
