I am not an expert in children or teen parties. There are hundreds of sites that specialize in that information if you google "kids parties" you will find an amazing amount of bright ideas. We do have a page on our site that leads to al the different kid's party themes, however. http://www.partyplansplus.com/themes.htm
Not for those seeking information about party/event planning as a career. That information is found on the internet under "event planning careers" or at our site www.partyplansplus.com/started.htm

Question I am planning a Roast for my husbands 40th bday and his promotion to Lt.Col upon his return from Afghanistan at the end of August. I rented a Ranch, Roast theme (food-pig roast, oyster roast), sent creative save the date postcards, have decor completely planned (black white red upscale bbq) and have ordered blank white aprons to use as the invitation. Writers Block!!! Can not think of what to decorate/say on the apron that would be comical and add to the 'theme' of Roasting. I would love a rhyme or poem but can not find anything online so far....any suggestions on wording? Again, want GREAT first impression, soldiers, family and friends coming from all over the world for this party. thanks so much!

Sorry for the delay in answering, illness in the family has kept me away from my keyboard for a week.
So many things to celebrate, I can see why you are challenged for a Slogan/Motto.
What is your husband's name?
I think the idea that it is such a lot to celebrate will be the "humor" in the event title.
"Welcome Home, Promotion Congratulations,
Happy 40th Birthday to Matthew"
Roast and Toast Celebration.
And all of the party details listed, should fill out the space.
You could imprint on a bib, chef's hat or apron.
It sounds like a fantastic event and regardless of what you call it it will be a great success.
