If I cannot answer I will direct you to the answer. I am not an expert in children or teen parties. There are hundreds of sites that specialize in that information if you google "kids parties" you will find an amazing amount of bright ideas. We do have a page on our site that leads to al the different kid's party themes, however. http://www.partyplansplus.com/themes.htm Not for those seeking information about party/event planning as a career. That information is found on the internet under "event planning careers" or at our site www.partyplansplus.com/started.htm

Party Planning - Time line for surprise party

Expert: Patty Sachs - 7/26/2008

Question
This is a surprise 75th birthday/family reunion for my husband.  I'm having the
party catered, I have the venue already rented, I have a photographer, the music
is set.  I need to know when to  order the catered food, when to send out the
invitations.  Thanks so much.

Answer
I would speak to the caterer as soon as you have all the details set, as they may be a busy company and you would need to reserve your date, especially if it is on a Saturday night.

Invitations should go out at least 6 weeks before an event, especially if it is on a Saturday or holiday weekend.  You could even send a "Save the date" card sooner to guarantee that people get it in time to make a travel plans.  Then send an invitation that has all of the details for the guests.

Best of luck to you in your planning adventure,

We do have a lot of party planning tips on our site.
