Question Hello! I am wanting to plan a surprise party for my husband's 40th birthday, unfortunately his birthday is December 26 and I'm afraid that is a busy time of year for everyone. Would it be okay to throw a party for him, say around October? I didn't know if this was bad etiquette.
Answer Dear Maria:
You will have fun and your husband and guests will love any party you throw...anytime you decide to throw it. Actually, a surprise party a distance away from the date can be a real surprise. Let's say your husband will be completely surprised, never expecting a party in October or November or even early December. October may be a little too early, but that is up to you.
Go ahead and pick a date that you like (check with close people as to their availability before you set the date) and go for it.
Best of luck to you with it!
