If I cannot answer I will direct you to the answer. I am not an expert in children or teen parties. There are hundreds of sites that specialize in that information if you google "kids parties" you will find an amazing amount of bright ideas. We do have a page on our site that leads to al the different kid's party themes, however. http://www.partyplansplus.com/themes.htm Not for those seeking information about party/event planning as a career. That information is found on the internet under "event planning careers" or at our site www.partyplansplus.com/started.htm

Question
What is an effective way to market yourself?

Answer
Gail:

Like most businesses, marketing options make up a long list--maybe 20 different tactics and strategies.

If you are just getting started, marketing to your warm list is best--let every person that you know--from dearest friend to your dry cleaning clerk--help you by passing out a card or two.  You should not run into a person that you know, a month from now and have them ask "So what are you doing now?"...they should all know.

If you have been in business for a year or so...do the same as above just to let them all know that you re STILL in business.

Network, network, network.  Join groups, attend events and support local organizations to spread the word of your company.

List yourself on every directory that you can find on the Internet--many are free and you never know where the job may come from.

Advertise only to the market you want...if you aspire to work for the affluent...place your ad in a magazine or paper section that they read.

Promote your business with donations to charity auctions.
Never leave home without business cards, pass them to anyone you meet...don't judge by their looks.  You never know where that card may land.  Be sure that everyone that you give money to (do business with) gets a card...even the waitress at the coffee shop.

That is just a few, if you were to devote just an hour a day in any of those tactics you will be successful and your business will grow.

There are dozens of sites that address marketing that works for any business.  Read through and you will learn more and more.

I hope this have been helpful.

Best to you,

Patty Sachs
