Question
What is the proper protocol for a retirement party?  Who gives it, the family, co-workers or friends?

Answer
Dear Melinda:

Actually, anyone can give that party...and often there are two parties--one by the co-workers and one for friends and family.  There is no right or wrong, there.

I am certain of this since having been invited to and planning both types of party.

I hope this helps in your decisions for a great celebration.

Best to you,
