Question
I'm interested in doing kids theme parties as a business.  When gathering information on the details for the party, what questions do you ask the parents or hosts?

Answer
I personally like to ask the children what theme they would like for their party.  If they don't know, I ask them about the things they like to do, etc. till we come up with a fun theme.  I then build a party around that theme and the kids are extra excited because they feel like they were part of the planning.  Of course, often parents have already decided on theme, but when I can I like to ask the child(ren).

It is important to also know the following:
1. Age group of children being invited
2. Whether the party is all girls, all boys, or mixed
3. Number of children being invited
4. Venue where party is being held (indoors or outdoors is also important to know)
5. Budget and whether a particular amount needs to be allocated to any category (eg. decorations, food, activities, goodie bags, prizes)
6. Any allergies or physical or mental challenges any of the children may have (You want to plan activities at the party that everyone can participate in and enjoy)
7. Date, start time, and length of party
