Question
i
have 60 guests ,will 3 platters of each shrimp, sandwiches, wings
(each serves 20-24)be enough.
there will also be several salads (pot.mac.slaw}and relish plates  chips nuts etc.
will this be enough.

Answer
Sounds like a great party!

Traditional caterers will tell you that it depends on how the food is served.  Their theory is that people tend to eat more if the appetizers are served buffet style, as opposed to passed on trays.  For an event without dinner, the recommendation is 10-15 pieces per person.

We've found that it really depends on when your party is held.  If your event is during a traditional meal time, people will be hungry and want to eat.  If the party is between meal times, for example, from 2 pm to 5 pm, the guests tend to just snack.

If your party is during a traditional meal time, you'll should have enough food.  Just don't forget a great dessert!  If the party is between meal times, you'll probably have a lot of leftovers.

Salut!
