About Patty Sachs
Expertise
Anything about planning parties for weddings, showers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, retirements, bar/bat mitzvahs, business promotions, fund raisers, and civic events. If I cannot answer I will direct you to the answer. I am not an expert in children or teen parties. There are hundreds of sites that specialize in that information if you google "kids parties" you will find an amazing amount of bright ideas. We do have a page on our site that leads to al the different kid's party themes, however. http://www.partyplansplus.com/themes.htm Not for those seeking information about party/event planning as a career. That information is found on the internet under "event planning careers" or at our site www.partyplansplus.com/started.htm

Party Planning - Outdoor Graduation Party for 90 People

Expert: Patty Sachs - 6/9/2009

Question
We are throwing an outdoor graduation party for 90 people and need advice on how much food to provide. The party will start at 3pm and go until 8-9pm. It will be a 70-30 split of adults to under 18. This is what we are intending on serving and need to know if it is too much of a selection and possible quantities:

Turkey Wraps (Finger Food Style)
Chicken Tenders (for kids)
Chicken Wings
Waldorf Salad
Pasta Salad
Five Cup Salad
Macaroni Salad
Chips and Pretzels
Bite Size Cream Puffs
Large Sheet Cake

Any advice on quantities would be VERY helpful!

Thanks,

Eric

Answer
Eric:

It sounds like you have a good handle on the food choices--lots of variety.

Since I am an overall planner I have not become an expert in the catering area, rather relying on my hired caterer for that advice.  However, I am including a list of great sites to determine quantities when you are doing your own catering.  I refer hosts to it often for tips.

I am sure you will find your answers in this mix.

Have a wonderful party and good luck with your menu.
