Party Planning - Party ideas

Question
I am turning 14 in august and am brainstorming ideas right now. One of my
ideas is to have a party in my backyard. I was thinking that my friends and I
could walk to the park that's 2 blocks away and play some softball or set up
a volleyball court. Then we could come back and have some food and
presents, cake, stuff like that. What should I have planned before or after the
park? Should I have games set up? Or what? My backyard isn't so big, it's
average sized and I have a trampoline, a gazebo, and some dirt cuz we're
putting in bricks. I want my friends to have something to do when the party
starts and it's slow going. Any ideas are appreciated. And also some
themes? Oh by the way my party is going to be mostly girls maybe a couple
of boys. And there's going to be at the most 12 people. Thanks

Answer
Hey, happy birthday.

You should definately have some drinks on arrival and maybe some small snacks, nibbles! Something to welcome them and something to do whilst everyone arrives. Put some music on and chill out, ready for the games.

It's impossible to tell about themes as I am in the UK and not a girl so think the tastes will be very different. The person who knows best what you and your friends like is ....... YOU. Just pick something cool, and go for it. Pick something where yo can get some images, colors etc easily so you don't have to spend money.

Maybe A Black & White Party! Or a Backwards Party. HAve a brainstorm session with some close friends and come up with something fun.

How about dividing guests into two or three teams and making the games challenges for points. Then you can do the same when you get back in the yard. Maybe have a quiz or something too. Have a big score bboard and allocate points as you go.

Then later...the award ceremony and prize giving!

Lots of scope there.....

HAve fun
