Party Planning - Costume Wedding

Question
Hi! My fiance and I would like to do a costume wedding. We want the bridal party to be a specific theme and the guests can wear any costume they want as long as its still elegant. I am having trouble coming up with a good idea for the bridal party's costumes. I know I would like to wear a mermaid style gown, but mermaid theme won't work because my fiance wants a more 'manly' costume. We 1st thought of angels and devils (which I love) then vampires but my mother is overly religious and will freak out if we do anything 'evil' or Gothic. Which really limits my options. I thought maybe an Asian theme would work and the men could be samurais and the women can be geishas but then I couldn't wear my mermaid gown. I am inches and 1 more headache away from just saying 'forget it' and eloping but I fell like I will always regret not having the wedding I want. Please help me come up with a theme my fiance and I will both agree on. Thank you so much!

Answer
Hi Miriam

Firstly, congratulations!

EASY.... broaden the theme. If you use something like 'Heroes' or 'Movie Characters' .... it allows for a broad range and much creativity. It also creates interest and conversation questions on the day as people discuss what movie etc people are.

That's my solution for you.
