AboutMary Lee Ferrin Expertise I can answer any questions about hosting or participating in a murder mystery party.
Experience I have been hosting murder mystery parties for 9 years. I owned a murder mystery dinner theater for a year. 4 years ago I started writing my own murder mystery parties and began selling them on the web. Within weeks I had to choose between my dinner theater and my party kit site. I just could not do both. I love writing so I choose to continue this and I have never looked back. My site Dinner and a Murder Mystery Games is one of the largest most authorative web sites on the web relating to murder mystery parties. I have an extensive forum in which I answer murder mystery questions. I also write articles. http://www.dinnerandamurder.co

Question I'm planning a vampire, halloweeen dinner party at the stroke of midnight! meaning it starts the wee morning of halloween!
my question is how should I spend my money? i have a budget of $250 and I am inviting 20 guests. I already have decorations and plates and napkins. I think i want to serve lasagna and salad maybe more.
oh and i dont want this party to be cheesy, i want classy if at all possible. lol. my friends are between the ages of 18-25ish and there will be no alchohal.
it is at my house and we already have enough tables and seats oh and creepy music.
I think that is all of the information i can give you.
so once again my question is how i should divide up my budget of $250. and also if you have any suggestions for games, food, drink ect.
thanks soooo much!
Answer Hello Lauren,
It seems you are already chugging along getting this party planned. I do have several suggestions. The first is hosting a murder mystery party. There are many Halloween themed murder mystery party kits available. Here are couple here:
The important thing is to look for an interactive murder mystery games, as these play out perfectly at parties. No sitting around taking turns reading off cards. Everyone is a character with their own agenda, interacting with all the other characters/guests at the party.
On our website Dinner and a Murder, I have have created a Halloween Theme page that has loads of ideas including creepy food suggestions with recipes, home made costume instructions, crafts, instructions for home made decorations, other game and activity ideas. You can see it here:
