Answer
Hi Thelma

I've been involved with events for many many years ... and of course the experience tells (so long as you make a point of learning from each and every occasion and situation).

You say that the business is very new there but surely people have organised events since the beginning of time. Perhaps it's doing it as a consultant that's new ... but I bet that in the 'up market' areas it has been around too. Wealthy people, politicians, royalty, busy people simply don't do it all themselves. People have always celebrated and organised meetings etc and on some level 'outsource' help from specialists in different areas whether that's catering or venues or decor or entertainment or production etc etc.

I don't have an office ... I am a consultant and work from home. However, the UK has thousands of events all the time and it would be beneficial for you to visit some and see the preparation and production process and perhaps meet some of the companies who organise them. I'd strongly recommend a publication called 'The White Book' which is a dervices directory that is published each year.

For now....
